About ABC English

ABC English has an excellent reputation for its high quality, professional language teaching. Currently we offer lessons in English, Czech, German, Russian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish and Italian and other languages can easily be arranged. We have schooled thousands of students who are happy to return to us and recommend us to their friends and family. Our business clients include many familiar names such as Czech Television, Tieto, Spa Klimkovice and Ringier Print. Our goal is to maintain a friendly and professional relationship with our clients and to fully meet their needs.

We are convinced that we have the highest quality team of teachers in the region. Six of them (including our Director of Studies) have been chosen by Cambridge University and the British Council to become qualified examiners and our standards are maintained through regular training and close co-operation with Cambridge ESOL, the British Council and Oxford University Press.

In-Company Courses

We recognise how important it is to make the most of any investment clients make in education.

In one of our major clients we raised the average language ability (according to the CEF) of their 400 employees by one whole level in only one year…we can do this in your company too.

How we achieve such great results:

• After carrying out a language audit we set a concrete goal in consultation with the client and our Director of Studies.
• We choose the most suitable teaching materials in order to most effectively achieve the goal.
• We build a professional team of teachers suitable for the type and style of tuition.
• Our Director of Studies monitors classes and routinely checks the level of progress in studies which is necessary for achieving the goal.
• Teachers carry out regular progress testing and feedback sessions in order to maintain students’ motivation.
  During the whole process class attendance and progress is recorded. Clients have online access to these details at all times through the ABC English website.
• At the end of the process clients receive a detailed report on the goals achieved.

One-to-One Courses

At ABC English we have a wealth of experience in providing successful one-to-one courses. These courses are highly effective and are therefore becoming more and more popular. Courses are organised according to the wishes of the student and can be any length or frequency and at any time of day. Many languages are available including English, Czech, German, Russian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish and Italian.

Evening/Afternoon Courses

ABC English pays the same attention to detail to its evening courses as it does to its other courses. Our qualified native and non-native teachers, working with our Director of Studies, create the ideal study plan for each class. The ABC English online system provides extra support for students with details of points covered in class, homework and a class chatroom where students can ask their teacher questions.

Students can choose between many levels (with the help of our online test) and between less or more intensive lessons. Additionally, expert preparation for Cambridge examinations is standard, either taught by or under the guidance of qualified Cambridge examiners selected by the British Council. We are the only school in the region offering this service.

Classes are offered in Ostrava city centre, Ostrava Poruba, Havirov, Karvina and Orlova. Timetables can be found in the left menu.
